Elizabeth Southern, nicknamed 'Demdike' is an elderly peasant. She begs and finds work where ever she can. Many of the locals are in fear of her believing she has special powers.

Along with the other 'Witches of Pendle' she was sent to Lancaster Castle to await trial for Witchcraft. She died in prison before the trial took place.
